Typeople
It is a fairly common practice for creative people to get creative ideas completely unrelated to the creative projects that they might be currently working on. So what is a person supposed to do with this surplus creativity? Well, first – he or she mulls the idea over for anywhere between one week and five years. Then, he or she moves on to the next obvious step –  vowing to act on it sometime during the next one week to five years.
The idea behind Typeople had been knocking around for quite a while. It always got whatever time and energy was left over after all the other more important projects were safely under control (which is to say – little). But at a few important junctures, it managed to jockey for some more genuine attention and became a legitimate line of products sold exclusively on Zazzle. (Use of clever-sounding marketing jargon: check.) And each part of every character is made from a letter, a number or a piece of punctuation. Seriously... just look closer. Manic? Perhaps. Don’t judge.
So within this typographically-tedious collection, you’ll find a precocious little girl, an iron-hearted robot, an amiable green alien and a mischievous monkey. Basically, the cornerstones of any successful business. They’re each like visual treasure hunts for your brain! Find your own favorite at my stores on Etsy and Threadless.
The Zartini: Z Factory’s Signature Holiday Drink
You can choose to interpret the term “holiday” quite loosely with this library of exotic/quixotic/narcotic libations, since technically–they have been dubbed tasty any time of the year. But for the past several years, a Zartini of some ilk has headlined the Z Factory’s winter season celebrations–and has garnered its own website and some wonderful press to accompany it, courtesy of The Chicago Tribune and staff reporter William Hageman. Read about it HERE.
Z Factory Company Picnic
